Shopping Inspiration

The moment Australian fashionistas have been waiting for has finally arrived. Spanish giant Zara open the doors of its flagship store at Westfield Sydney, TODAY.

With no less than 200 dedicated designers Zara offers a full range of women’s, men’s and children’s fashion over three floors – can it get any better? It can! We’ll be spoilt for choice with news that new stock will arrive in store twice a week. I’m exhausted just thinking about it.
Zara epitomises my favourite style ethos – simple, elegant, and chic. Offering timeless pieces which can be worn over and over by simply teaming up with new season trends, and of course one of my favourite past times – accessorising.
Some of my favourite celebrity style icons are Zara lovers too...

If you’re in the vicinity, be sure to stop in, I have a feeling you won’t be disappointed. I’m already flipping the pages of my diary to figure out when the girls and I can pop down to Sydney for a “shopping weekend”. Best start saving!

musical inspiration

listening to: Blackbird - The Beatles

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Blackbird signing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Growing up, I would come home from school to an empty house, my parents record collection and their record player - needless to say, my afternoons were full of song!

Visual Inspiration

This photo was taken two years ago when I visited Western Australia, outside of the coastal town of Cervantes.

My camera was on the wrong setting, but I couldn't have asked for a better photo. This shot encapsulates what I love about water, everlasting glimmer, and evokes many happy memories.

Have an inspirational weekend xx

Style Inspiration

Love her or hate her, I'm a lover. Lara Bingle exudes style. It's feminine and effortless with whispers of urban chic. If I could spend the day in her wardrobe, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Lara recently took five minutes with Grazia Magazine and when asked style or trend? Her response was "I think style. Trends are always changing but style is individual. It's nice having those key pieces in your wardrobe, like vintage that you can wear all year round".

Over the years, her choices haven't always portrayed her in the best light, but that's all part of living and learning. Recent shoots with Oyster and The Sydney Magazine as well as collaborations with her makeup artist and best friend Max May for a coffee table beauty book, AS WELL AS a retailer and brand for sunglasses, simply highlights she's not letting past controversy hide her away.

Shine your style light our way Lara, we love you xx

coastal inspiration

Today marks the end of another working week and the start of April. Cool winds, dark skies and rain descended upon us this week, cementing autumn for another year.
Ella, Kate and I are going coastal this weekend with our fabulous friend Marc. It’s a somewhat belated birthday celebration we’ve been looking forward to since his actual birthday back in December.
White Sangria
2 large green apples
1/2 cup lime juice
2 x 750ml bottles Riesling
1/2 cup white rum
1/3 cup apple schnapps
1/4 cup icing sugar
3 cups seedless green grapes, halved
2 cups blueberries
3 cups sparkling mineral water

Peel and core apple and cut into thin wedges. Place in medium bowl with lime juice. Stand for 5 mins.
Place undrained apples with remaining ingredients into a large bowl and stir to combine.
Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.

We enjoyed a few glasses of this delicious concoction on a hot afternoon last year at Kate’s Hen’s Weekend.
Here’s to hoping the clouds open up a sky full of blue and rays of sunshine beam down upon us for our coastal weekend. Enjoy yours!
